Peace and Love are just letters arranged together

They have no meaning until we give them some

And so far we have not mastered their meaning

Why should such gloomy silence reign;

And why is all the house so drear,

When neither danger, sickness, pain,

Nor death, nor want have entered here?


We are as many as we were

That other night, when all were gay,

And full of hope, and free from care;

Yet, is there something gone away.



The moon without as pure and calm

Is shining as that night she shone;

but now, to us she brings no balm,

For something from our hearts is gone.



Something whose absence leaves a void,

A cheerless want in every heart.

Each feels the bliss of all destroyed

And mourns the change - but each apart.



The fire is burning in the grate

As redly as it used to burn,

But still the hearth is desolate

Till Mirth and Love with Peace return.



'Twas Peace that flowed from heart to heart

With looks and smiles that spoke of Heaven,

And gave us language to impart

Who Ordered the Rain??

Sure enjoyed it while it was here! Looks like we might get some more in the days ahead :)

Is it the impossible dream

Some dream about it


Poets write sonnets about it


Philosopher’s try to teach the meaning of it


Musicians sing songs about it


Politicians promise to bring it to us


Some feel that fighting is the only way to achieve it


Why do we feel so strongly about it


What is this thing that we keep searching for


Does it have a taste


What does it feel like


If we find it will we be happy


If we are unable to find it within ourselves


How can we hope to share it with others


What holds so much Power over us


This magical thing we label as Peace!

Your Earthly journey has came to an end

It was late this afternoon before I heard Grandma
Calling you Home to be with your brothers and sisters

Faces on the Moon

Took this shot 3 months ago and had some time to look at it today. While I was looking at it I noticed what looks like a face on it. The clouds were drifting by the moon on the night I shot this and I was trying to get a shot of them, when I saw how the shots turned out I was a little disgusted with the blurriness of the shots. Sometimes a fresh outlook helps...

Over the Fence

Took this shot while hanging over the fence the other day! I think the neighbor was asleep :)
And the Sun made an appearance today. I had the opportunity to weld today, sure beats running the saw.

Are you Wet??

I am starting to sound like a broken record, and yes it rained again last night. But today has some promise. First a little visit to a friends church and later a visit from my daughters! Oh and have a wonderful day :)

Another Rainy Day

Woke up to the sound of rain on the roof again. How many days and nights can we be expected to keep from seeing the Sun and the Moon! My body misses seeing the Sun, but my heart misses the Moon!

Searching for my Soul!

Loosing my Soul has been bothering me a lot lately. And today it got under my skin. It's time to start searching for it. But first I need to figure out when it seemed to be missing. Part of it could have left when we moved up here from Arkansas. When the teachers at school could not pronounce my name the way it is supposed to be pronounced. After ignoring them when they pronounced my name wrong, they called my mother and told her there was something wrong with me. After weeks of having them call a name that was not mine I guess part of my soul gave up and gave in to them. Should have stood my ground and made them pronounce it correctly. But 8 year olds have a hard time adjusting to just moving and trying to make new friends without the hassles brought on by adults that should know better. I answer to both pronunciations now, but I like my givin name far better!!

What path is my Soul on??

I was talking to a friend today and told her that my soul felt like it was off on it's own path. It seems to have left my body and went out exploring. It would be so easy to blame it on the weather, but that would be a lie. Hope it comes back soon, even with all it's faults I still miss it :)

Spent Saturday morning out on some of the backroads around Mt. St Helens. The lighting was a little bright and so I had to work on this shot a bit to make it look better. The views up there took my breath away at times.
